Friendly competition

So there is a pita place opening up across the street from us and I've learned that if I can make a food before Dan goes and eats it elsewhere then I don't have to get dragged to lame places and waste my money. I've also learned that I should never attempt to make any dishes that I would prefer to eat out, hence my strike on making Arab, Persian and Thai food. Soooo today I got down and dirty on a pita, although it didn't come out pretty it was bomb.

Process:
Sautéed garlic and red onions in olive oil with sumac. Tossed in sliced chicken breast, squeezed half of a lemon and a sprinkle of cumin and let it cook.

Fried up some French fries

Made a sauce of garlic, mint, cucumber and yogurt.

Through it all in a pita with tomato, red onion and homemade pickles.

The husband was more than pleased, all is right in the world

Breakfast on the go!

Some soy vanilla yogurt, bananas, ground flaxseed, blackberries, granola and a drizzle of honey. I tell myself I eat to stay healthy but I really eat because this mess tastes oh so good. Live your life people, eat what makes you happy.

Two man dinner party


Mini shredded chicken taco bowls and blackberry shortcake, aw yeah!

Figured I'd give another Pinterest recipe a shot and they turned out so unbelievably good.  Filled them with shredded chicken, avocado corn salsa, tomatoes and black beans.  The shortcakes however were a byproduct of Blackberries going on sale for 88 cents, can't pass that up.
