When it rains, it pours.

Happy December 1st to all!  Strangely, it is the first of December and this is the nicest weather we have had in a very long time.  Really warm winds which probably means there's some tropical storm running rampant somewhere else but never-you-mind about that.  Today's task was to get an idea of what kind of wedding shoes I want that don't cost $1,300 (Bella Swan I'm looking at you).  I have a reputation as a bit of a shoe collector and since I will have a short wedding dress people are expecting big things from me.  I had originally planned to just wear my sisters light pink J. Simpson pumps but I'm almost positive that half of the female attendants will be more concerned with my shoe choice and less attentive to my vows. So, to please everyone, including my inner diva, I have taken on the task of jazzing up my own shoes.  I will have custom footwear and a custom dress on that most glorious day.  In the meantime, I would really like to find these completely out of stock rain boots.

Note To/From/Re: Self

I've been making an effort to notice things about myself.  The more I do the more I like myself, also I forget it 2 hours later.  Note to self: Remember self.

Seasons come and go

My sweet love came home for the weekend which went by entirely too fast.
Thursday:

He flew in at 8:30 and we went and had Denny's with our mutual friend/officiant.

Friday:

Drove back into SF to meet and book our photographer and then headed over to Golden Gate Park to raid the food trucks.

Saturday:

Went to a family Halloween party.  Weeks of thrifting finally paid off, costumes cost us about $25 altogether, AND we won the contest.

Sunday:
Just kicked back and spent time with our families.  Watched Hocus Pocus and became devastated that "Zachary Binx" is actually "Thackery Binx", heartbreaking.

Monday:

Woke up at 4:30am to drive my honey to the airport.  Came home and covered a tin can that I stole out of my honeys trash can.  They have one of those neat can openers that cuts the lid so it can go back on the can. Genius. Adding that to our registry asap.

Earth Angel

This creature is the man I'm going to marry.  He is beautiful, educated, and completely okay with making a fool of himself, as seen above.  I cannot wait for him to come home this week and I even more cannot wait to marry him. Siiiigghhh.  It's once again one of those days where I just wish I could share it with him.  I made some rough draft wedding centerpieces which I will post later and am now wrapped up in a blanket drinking decaf coffee watching an SVU marathon.  Only 249 more days...but who's counting?

Gimme the green

There is nothing prettier than the green of vegetables.  My dinner of choice will always include charred brussels.

The Rural Juror

The closer I get to sharing the rest of my life with someone the more excited I get about sharing the things that I love.  Like watching 30 rock, or sewing, or falling asleep on the couch.  I've always been one of those people that preferred being alone but I really can't wait to go for night runs without the fear of some raper popping out of a bush or about feeling pathetic when I'm on my period and craving a big mac with no meat and extra pickles, I'll have someone who can take me through the drive-thru and tell me I look beautiful even though I know how greasy my face is and that there is fry salt on my sweater.  Everything you love is only made better by sharing it with someone you love. F'reals.

A is for Anxious

I've been having sudden moments of becoming EXTREMELY overwhelmed and while everyone seems to think it's due to wedding planning it seems that wedding planning is the only thing that is bringing any kind of joy and consistency nowadays.  I've become a patient of retail therapy which is not at all helping my situation but the thought of decorating my future home makes me happy in an incredibly special way.  I need to clear my mind so here is my list of things I need to do to get some inner peace.

1. Get a job (although I do love being at home all day)
2. Get rid of my facebook (I'm only keeping it to keep informed about the wedding, but is it worth it?)
3. See my fiance (He'll be home in 10 days for 3 days.  Better than nothing I suppose)
4. Stop listening to such somber music (Sea Wolf, Bon Iver, Iron and Wine, The Antlers...No Bueno)
5. Count my blessings (Which are numerous)
6. Stop talking to people when I know they're going to piss me off (And they always do)

This'll do for now.  On a much lighter note, I've made a few things for our future place that I'm quite proud of:

A shadow box with the rose Dan gave me when he asked me to be his girlfriend and the one he gave me when he asked me to be his wife.

Initial pillows to put on our couch.

A cover for the Baha'i prayer book from my future in-laws

Scrabble coasters with things we love and jokes of ours

And measuring spoons that I painted for a little pizzazz

I just need to remember to breathe.  I'm in a great place in life, might as well take it all in because it's definitely going by fast.
